The following factors govern who we are able to help:

1. Community Based projects
Our Constitution states that our aim is "In promoting or supporting projects or schemes for the welfare and benefit of the inhabitants of any local community within the Trust area... providing funds in support of any body or organisation itself being charitable or to a public authority for charitable purposes in a common effort to encourage job creation, the provision of facilities for recreational, artistic and other leisure-time activities and otherwise with a view to improving the conditions of life of the inhabitants of any local community within the Trust area..."
Our compass has been broad, including all kinds of social and community initiatives, supporting churches' work with families and children, older people, people with special needs and people with problems of mental health or homelessness. Click on the "Projects" header above or else previous grant options to get an idea of the kind of community projects we support.

Please note: Specifically excluded from our consideration are grants in support of political parties, support of major appeals, on-going funding of salaries, church fabric appeals, and also the funding of individuals.

2. Christian linked
The Trust seeks to encourage christians, christian churches and organisations to become involved in their local communities. The "denomination" does not matter to us at all (our Trustees represent a variety of Christian backgrounds). But since we have a Christian constitution, priority can sometimes be given to projects which help the church to be more socially active.

3. Limited resources
Grants are normally for up to £500, as our policy has been to help as many organisations as possible with the funds available. Exceptionally, grants up to £1000 can be made. Some grants have contributed to the funding of a new scheme; some have paid for furniture and equipment or training, or helped with the costs of parish audits. Some grants have helped projects to develop new initiatives.
